ABOUT LYNN
BioI began learning violin at age 4 from my mother, although my musical education started much earlier, through listening to her instruct pupils in our home. By the time I was 16, I had 12 students of my own, under her guidance.
I continued formal violin studies under Galamian and his protégées, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance. I went on to earn a Masters of Music degree, studying with Joseph Silverstein. As a young adult, my career focused on performing, and I played with many orchestras in the Boston area, including the Boston Pops and Harvard Chamber Orchestra. Later, moving to the Pioneer Valley, my focus shifted to teaching violin in public and private schools. I developed a method which synthesizes master's level violin technique with the experience of instructing young children. |
