Safety Measures:

• Lynn is fully vaccinated.
• Separate spaces for the student and teacher are available and will be used when COVID risk is high.
• One student/family inside at a time.
• Students &/or teacher wear masks with high risk.
•  *If a student: (1) has had exposure to COVID-19 in the past 14 days, (2) has any symptoms of illness, then the lesson will be changed to "Zoom" format.

Staying in touch with each other:

​VioLynn Studio uses Flipgrid as a platform for students to communicate by making/posting videos of their playing, then watching each others' and commenting for each other.
​The app is private - no outsiders can see our content.​

Separated Teacher &
​Student Rooms

When risk is high,
​I teach from my "Studio Room," maintaining a 12' distance from students in the "Studio Room:

The two rooms are separated by a "buffer" area.

​A waiting area is provided
​in the garage.

​Suggestions for online lessons: 

• Set up on a rug, at least a bow and a half away from your mic, with your music stand to the left of your computer.
• Check that your image shows the top of your head down to the bottom of your bow arm.
• Have the light source ON you, not behind you.
• Test your computer's webcam, mic and speakers.

 Optimizing violin sound:

• Use ethernet, not WiFi
• Set speaker volume at about 60%
• Stand at least 1½ bow-length away from the mic
• An external mic, including that on an iPhone, can improve the quality of your sound.

 Zoom Sound Settings:
(Because Zoom options frequently change, these may not be current.)

  • Unclick Microphone setting "Automatically adjust volume," and set volume to 100%
  •  Enable Stereo sound

  • Disable "Suppress Persistent Background Noise)
  • Disable "Suppress Intermittent Background Noise)
