Violin lessons with Lynn are encouraging, constructive and personalized to each student's individuality and musical interests.

Lynn's expertise is based on the wisdom of her mother's violin studio, study with world-renowned violin instructors (including Ivan Galamian and Joseph Silverstein), and the experience of many years of teaching.

A positive approach combines enjoying violin and establishing strong technique. Through playing in classical and "fiddle" styles, ear training and music reading are both developed. Students are inspired and encouraged to cultivate their own musical expression.

Private lessons of a half hour, 45 minutes or one hour are held each week, with pupils of the same level and age next to each other so they may play and learn together.

Studio classes are held monthly for each age group/
level. During these, students play for each other as well as in groups, developing confidence, motivation and peer support. Classes also include other musical activities and games, which reinforce music theory and history.

 

Recitals and programs are given throughout the year so that students may share and celebrate their violin playing with family, friends and community.
